When you hit with an attack using this magic scythe, the target takes an extra 1d8 necrotic damage if it isn't a construct or undead, and the target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or contract a withering disease. The target is poisoned until the disease is cured. Every 24 hours that elapse, the target's hit point maximum decreases by 10. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0. The effect lasts until removed by the greater restoration spell or similar other magic.
